Youth Activities
Greetings to all parents and youth having completed grades 6-12. My name is Tom Mahas, and I am the youth pastor at Bethel UB church in Elmore, Ohio. Two years ago I was asked to lead the youth during the US National Conference, and I jumped at the chance to do it again. I am excited to tell you what we have planned for teens during during the 2009 US National Conference.
We will meet on Thursday night just for some food and to get acquainted. We will play some games and talk about what we have planned for the weekend.
We'll spend all day Friday at Cedar Point. Tickets are $30 for students and $32 for adults. Checks can be made payable to "UBIC." This money must be turned in by Friday night. You will need to bring money for meals at the park. We will provide transportation to and from Cedar Point.
On Saturday, we encourage students to attend the workshops pertaining to college plans and student loans. We will provide activities at The Granary for students who are not attending the workshops.
Then on Saturday night we will have our own workshop about life as a pastor's kid. We will have two speakers who have grown up as pastor's kids. If you have had to deal with the challenges of being a child of a pastor, then this workshop is for you.
I am excited to get to know you all and hope this year's conference will be a blessing to your whole family. You can contact me at 419.410.2756 or email me if you have any questions.
