Tim BrownSpeaker: Dr. Tim Brown

Dr. Tim Brown is our keynote speaker. He'll address the conference on Thursday and Friday nights, and also conduct a workshop on Saturday morning.

Dr. Tim Brown is the senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Clovis, Calif., where he has served since August 1997. Tim arrived at First Baptist after a church split occurred in 1995. Since Tim’s arrival in 1997, FBCC has grown in average weekend attendance from 70 to over 900 with over 550 baptisms.

The church has transitioned from a program-driven model of ministry to a simple-church model, and changed its constitution and by-laws to reflect its vision and purpose for ministry.

First Baptist Church of Clovis was awarded the Purpose Driven Church Health Award in May 2006 by Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church. FBCC is the leading mission-giving church in its region and has planted a thriving church in Madera, Calif., called Flipside Christian Church.

In addition to his duties as senior pastor of First Baptist, Tim is actively involved in the leadership of the region of churches in Northern California known as Growing Healthy Churches. He is the Lead Mentoring Pastor who oversees the coaching/mentoring system for GHC. Additionally, Tim does leadership, teambuilding, and church health consulting and conferences for various churches and denominations. He has worked extensively with pastors and churches throughout the United States, Australia, India and Africa.

Tim is a graduate of Fairmont State College in Fairmont, W. Va. While in college, Tim was an Associate in Campus Ministry for the West Virginia Baptist Convention, and he also served as the youth pastor for Simpson Creek Baptist Church in Bridgeport, W. Va.

Tim received his Masters of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kent., in 1994 and his Doctorate of Ministry from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, Ill., in 2000. He pastored in Indiana prior to going to First Baptist Church of Clovis.

Tim and his wife, Charity, have been married for 15 years. They have two daughters: Abigail (10) and Allison (5).
