Cedar Point Amusement Park
Cedar Point is the second oldest amusement park in North America, dating back to 1870. Its 69 rides and shows are scattered on 364 acres along Lake Erie. Cedar Point has 17 rollercoasters--more than any other amusement park in the world.
Amusement Today readers have named Cedar Point the "Best Amusement Park in the World" for nine years in a row. Theme Parks magazine has named Cedar Point "America's Favorite Amusement Park," "Favorite Park for Thrills," and "Best Value" for the past two years.

Live Entertainment
Cedar Point's live entertainment has won numerous awards, and it boasts one of the top-rated outdoor night shows.
Snoopy's Summer Vacation is an ice-skating extravaganza with lively music. Live shows can also be found at the Centennial Theatre, the Red Garter Saloon, and the Palace Theatre.
Other thrill rides include:
- Maverick, opened in 2007, features a 2.5 minute ride (sometimes airborne) along rugged terrain. The 12-passenger train is propelled up the first hill, 105 feet tall, and riders plummet at a 95-degree angle (more than straight down) at up to 57 mph. You go upside-down three times and plunge through a 400-foot dark tunnel at up to 70 mph.
- Millennium Force, 310-feet tall, rushes riders at 93 mph. It is widely recognized as the world's top steel rollercoaster.
- Top Thrill Dragster, standing 420 feet tall, launches riders down its track at 120 mph. It is usually ranked as the world's second-best steel roaster, behind Millennium Force.
- Power Tower shoots riders 240 feet into the air and then down at up to 60 mph.
- Skyhawk opened in 2006 as the world's largest swing ride. Two giant arms swing 40 riders in opposite directions up to 125 feet into the air.
- Demon Drop features a 10-story free fall at 55 mph.
- Snake River Falls, one of the world's tallest and steepest flume rides, stands over 80 feet tall.
- The RipCord Skycoaster, at Challenge Park, takes people 150 feet above the ground and drops them straight down at up to 65 mph. Challenge Park also includes two 18-hold mini golf courses.

Cedar Point features four children's areas with attractions for the whole family: Kiddy Kingdom, Gemini Children's Area, Camp Snoopy, and Peanuts Playground
Other Attractions
- The Midway Carousel is the park's oldest ride. It opened in 1946. The oldest rollercoaster still operating is the Blue Streak, which dates back to 1964.
- Snoopy's Summer Vacation is an ice-skating production in which the Peanuts gang dances, skates, and interacts with the crowd.
- Soak City features big water slides for teens, and Choo-Chool Lagoon, Tadpole Town, and the Splash Zone for kids.
- The Lake Erie Railroad transports people around the park.
Top Two Coasters
The Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster were named as the world's two best steel rollercoasters by CoasterBuzz.com, Theme Parks magazine, and the National Amusement Park Historical Association. Two of them ranked the Magnum XL-200 4th.
